Just posted some Jaguar logo's on the mobile me webpage.
This is a logo I've been fond of for some time, I like how the line drawing logo is made into a solid version with muscle tone showing - absolutely killer.

Can anyone make a Tuna with Frozen Muscle-Tone?

I received some feedback from one of your colleague's and wanted to share something / explain my position and clarify my basic need.

The comment I received - "I also wanted to tell you that I truly appreciate all of the feedback you have been giving us designers. It really makes the design process more enjoyable and come out better!"

I truly appreciate this feedback, but feel I am being wishy-washy with my critiques. This is not intended as I have a huge amount of respect for each and every one of you. I share your creativity, and only wish I had taken some design classes - If I had, I would be a force to be reckoned with. Alas, I am not.

I really do appreciate the designs and this is all fairly new to me.

Now for the forgiveness part - I think what I need is VECTOR art. I know that Vector artwork is an .eps file and is scaleable but I do not know much beyond that. The Logo that I am looking for needs to work within the following framework for me.

1. Easily Read - even from afar.
2. Distinctive and Visually Upscale
3. Simple / Clean Design.
4. Able to be used on Clothing (Embroidery and Screen Printed) Able to be done in vinyl without 4-color process. And easily integrated in all types of marketing collateral including the web and print.
5. The submission from Damian with the Tuna wearing the scarf is the most memorable thus far, but other designers have more distinctive fonts.
6. Basic Elements - Extreme Cold, Tuna, Icy, Upscale / Affluent, Japanese / Zen influence?
7. I will upload a picture of the Stainless Steel embossing for all to see, please check the mobile me account.
The logo needs to be very clean in order to work with the embossing.

I have a quick window here of reasonable internet access.

Looking over the designs - I have made the following deductions.

The Logo's that grab me the most do not have ANY sort of back ground layer (fade or otherwise)

While modern 4-color process will allow them to be printed on Vinyl (Freezer Decals) printed on T-Shirts / Stationary I like when the logo POPS out at you.

The examples that grab me most thus far all share the white back ground with solid colored elements / color breaks.
(Think easy color separation for printing / embroidery / vinyl)

I have not yet seen any example that takes its inspiration from the Solid Frozen Tuna http://www.me.com/gallery/#100002/IMG_0551

Many more photo's can be seen by doing a google search for "tsukiji market" I think that a FROZEN tuna itself may be the best variation of the Tuna in Ice / Glacier theme by using distinct color breaks within the same color palette to show the frozen nature. Conceptually this sounds great.

My mind remains open to everything - I will be sharing the site with many friends, colleagues and family to sort through with 3 days left or so.

The first two submission have helped me to clarify what I am looking for.
Think Extreme Cold and Seafood - Predominantly Sushi-Grade Tuna which sits atop the seafood food-chain.

The logo can absolutely be playful but I need it to be memorable and leave the impression of both Extreme Cold and Tuna / Seafood
