Creative brief

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

An online community to help recently laid off workers make the transition to greener pastures. LayoffBoard.com hosts alum groups, has forums where members exchange information and tips on living the unemployed life (and what works to get yourself back on a payroll as quickly as possible), and many other community features to help make this difficult time a little easier.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

A compelling logo.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Laid off workers in a variety of industries and fields. Age demographic would probably skew a little older (30-45), and be equally split M/F.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

boxee.tv, power.com, mufin.com (though that logo is probably too "tall" for our liking), timelope.com, soundcloud.com

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Cheery colors, versus rich, dark colors. We are, afterall, encouraging "the promise of tomorrow." Need a type treatment and an icon of some sort that would look dynamite on a t-shirt, embroidered on laptop bag and other swag. Important to deliver color and monochrome versions (black version and white version). Logo should be readable at smaller (business card-and-larger) sizes.

Brief updates

It bears mentioning that we are fairly savvy with Illustrator and other digital tools ourselves, however have come to CrowdSpring to get some real "Design" for the logo. Please do not submit entries which are just type and up-facing arrows.

Also, please do not submit multiple variations of the same concept--or "first cousins" of concepts. If we like one and want to explore it further, we will direct you to do so at that time.
