Creative brief

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Bonus Box is a job search site with a twist: Job seekers get paid a $500 bonus if they land one of the jobs offered by our employers. Our employers are willing to pay us a referral fee for good candidates, and we pass a part of that fee along to the candidate.

Tag line: Get paid to find your next job.
(we are not stuck on this. We think it is OK, but not yet great.)

How it works (for job seekers):
1) Candidates tell us a little about the job they want, and upload their resume. This typically takes about 2-3 minutes.
2) Once per day we email the candidate a list jobs that match their resume/skill set.
3) If they like a job, they click a link to submit their resume, and if they get the job, we give them $500.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

Logo Style:
This will be full color on the web 99.9% of the time, but I like simple logos that still work in 2 color. Text logo, or a bug with text is fine. Ask yourself, "would you want to wear a t-shirt with that on it."

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Demographics:
Most of our target job seekers are age 20-35 and will find their next job based on their quantifiable skills (like n years of experience in x) as opposed to qualitative skills (like great management).

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Note on Money:
Bonus Box is a cool idea, but people often think there must be a catch. Please keep in mind the fact that people are very sensitive to scams. Our primary function is to help people get jobs. The $500 bonus is a cool reward, but it needs to stay in context and not be cheesy. It is more important for people to trust us. We are not trying to attract a bunch of Amway sales people with dollars dropping from the sky.

Note on Boxes:
If you want to use a box, you are going to have to be creative or it will look super-cliche. For instance, the words "Bonus Box" followed by a clip art box is probably not a good idea. Designing a clever way to integrate the name with a box may work.

Other differentiation:
A Bonus Box job search is totally confidential. Nobody sees a job seekers resume until that job seeker decides to respond to a job. This allows us to help job seekers that want to look for a job privately. Security/Confidentiality is obviously a very soft concept in this context and may not apply. Some job seekers are very sensitive to this, while others are just desperate and don't care at all.
