LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
BigBrassBand will help web developers and entrepreneurs take care of account management and subscription management so they can charge for their products and focus on improving the product and not the maintenance of the back office. We want to help the small guy look and act like BigCo (in a good way).
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need a logo that will be used on our website, on our blog, in email marketing, and elsewhere. We want a colorful and bright logo which is both optimistic and uses contemporary web design.
We would like a couple variations of the logo: 1. A symbol 2. A symbol with "BigBrassBand" 3. A very simplified and smaller version of the symbol (50px by 50px) - probably with the letter b (Facebook has their "facebook" logo and then a much smaller variation with just "f")
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Our audience is lone developers, small teams of web developers, and internet entrepreneurs who are building web applications. We want them to remember us and trust us. We want them to build their applications on top of BigBrassBand.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
http://www.campaignmonitor.com - overall style good (though a little too Business Enterprise), clean interface (clear and simple)
http://www.highrisehq.com - Not afraid to use color, nice fonts
http://silverbackapp.com/ - memorable
http://brightkite.com/ - good use of name "brightkite" in logo (not necessary for us, but an option)
http://cakephp.org/ - Very cool style, our audience would appreciate this and recognize it as a quality tool/service
http://www.gist.com - clean, nice style
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
Use what comes to mind from our company name for a symbol in the logo. We don't want a huge disconnect between the name and the logo.
