LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We are the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and we are looking for a logo for an exciting new project: the Arts Engagement Exchange. This is a learning network for arts organizations in Chicago. We aim to create greater demand for the arts in Chicago by increasing the number or types of people who participate in arts activities, and deepening existing audiences’ levels of participation. This project is funded by the Wallace Foundation in partnership with Chicago Community Trust and the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs.

Please check www.cct.org/page10002943.cfm for more details about this project.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

A simple logo to be used on a new website for the Arts Engagement Exchange, as a banner on top-of an e-newsletter, on announcements for upcoming events, and on our partners’ websites.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Staff and board members of Chicago area arts organizations. We want these people to think about learning, networking, and sharing in order to grow their audiences. We often use the phrase “broaden, deepen, diversify audiences” when promoting our programs.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Simple, sleek and to the point:
Chicago Cultural Center (www.chicagoculturalcenter.org - logo located in banner)
Chicago Community Trust (www.cct.org)
Engage 2020 (www.philaculture.org)
Chicago Artists Resource (www.chicagoartistsresource.org)

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Must have:
Nice color palette that can be translated to the website – should transfer well to black and white
Sleek font
We are interested in including a graphic element to the text, but it isn’t necessary

Will also want:
A version of the logo that includes the following tagline:
Arts Engagement Exchange: An initiative for the development of Chicago arts audiences

Brief updates

we would like to be able to see the logo with and without the tagline. and we do not want it to depend on the tagline for a complete look.
