The HELP entry is incorrect for website projects. Our apologies. When you click "participate now" in website projects, you can download a template, which is 1024 x 768. We don't restrict sizes for any entries. Our 800 x 800 for other projects and 1024 x 768 suggestions are made so that your work looks best in the Gallery. We'll correct the HELP entry for websites to make sure that it's clear for website projects, you can submit images at 1024 x 768 for proper display. Larger images don't display properly in the Gallery - so if you submit larger sizes, you risk knowing that the buyer might overlook them.

Hi I don't think it's unfair to upload an image bigger than 800 x 800 and alexlr gave good reasoning for that. In fact: All entries with a high rating actually submitted examples taller than 800 x 800. It also only says the entry "should be" 800 x 800 pixels - not that is has to. If, in fact, crowdspring ... If, in fact, crowdspring wouldn't want anyone to upload an image taller than that, they could simply limit the size via code.

Hello, I id not get the hanceto post for this project, but I wanted to help with alexlr explain the 800x800 rule. In the Help section it says: "The best size to use when creating your entry is 800x800. This will allow the image to be seen in its entirety when a user is in the Gallery (grid) view." This ... In the Help section it says:

"The best size to use when creating your entry is 800x800. This will allow the image to be seen in its entirety when a user is in the Gallery (grid) view."

This does not mean that it has to be. Ifit is within that range it will show up in h lightbox, if not than it will open another window or tab and show it there. No where does it state that it i in violation if it is not 800x800.

And that's not the say the site has to be 800x800, only that the picture of your design you upload is supposed to fit into an 800x800 square. So for long sites (1024px wide by maybe 1600px high) you'd have to proportionally reduce the size of the comp so small nothing would be legible and tons of detail would be ... (more)

In reality, for a big site, this 800x800 "rule" (which isn't even a rule) doesn't work, because for long pages (like many submissions for this project) you can't ... (more)

In reality, for a big site, this 800x800 "rule" (which isn't even a rule) doesn't work, because for long pages (like many submissions for this project) you can't possibly get enough visible information in there. By the time you reduce down the size of your comp it will be so small that the buyer won't be able to see anything.

The reason they want an 800x800 square is for their zoom/lightbox feature on the site. Saying that it isn't "fair" is ridiculous because nobody (except maybe you, SuperPoweredInnovations) submitted their designs in an 800x800 box. (less)

A good entry won.... but your entry is not supposed to exeed 800 X 800 px. It's really not fair that you went beyond this limitation, while others kept it. Had the limitation been broken by all, your would have been less likely to win.

Good design, unfair strategy.
