Unlike NB&P’s previous contests, this project relied more on internal perspective than market research because it’s a “family business” and one man’s legacy. The internal team included just over a dozen people, yet no two chose the same design, and each person had very good branding-based reasons to justify his/her vote.

After a week of intense debate we agreed that Rapunzel’s character was the most suitable representation of D.R. (capturing his quiet, contemplative nature in a beautiful, clean vector that can be applied to many materials), that Iconic Design’s vintage logo overcame certain branding challenges (non-wheat beers offered under the Wheathead name necessitated larger treatment of “brewing company” and product name, according to our limited market research), and that Typecast’s well-balanced layout with perfect Idaho mountains, TOGETHER represented the ideal brand for Wheathead.

We are very grateful to these three artists for agreeing to a collaborative effort outside the original parameters of the project, where PIECES of each of each design could be used for a total label award of $1050, the absolute cap on Wheathead’s modest budget. We hope our approach feels fair to everyone involved. All three “winning” artists will also have the option of receiving the shirt and recognition as described in the project.

As the PM with a stack of comments and notes in front of me, I would like to share “honorable mentions” about other artists’ work, but there are so many that it would probably just come off as annoying. The total outcome of this contest was fantastic, and I have no doubt that other cS browsers have been popping in here to admire your work.

This project originally had one $625 award. The buyer liked the elements of three different designs and wished to combine them. The buyer added funds so that they could award three (3) awards of $350 each. Thank you. For the t & h, I definitely can alter that to separate or even change the H to Cap.
For the Wheat W as you'll see on the bottle cap can be removed from the area behind D.R. but I'm sure I can do whatever necessary to make it a perfect fit.
