Can anybody not see this win-win-win mechanism in work?

Puravida: You should have asked for an extension. For a $600 prize, I think the staff at CrowdSPRING would be more than willing to accommodate to allow you and designers to get you the design you want.

CrowdSPRING staff: To give you an idea of my usage of this website, 90% of my work is being designed for the "other" website, despite all their well known problems. And my ratio of submissions to payout is much higher as well. (less)

I think for ANY project, there has been too much of delay, I say it from client (Buyers), and Crowdspring Staff. I think for ANY project, there has been too much of delay, I say it from client (Buyers), and Crowdspring Staff. The question I have is: What is the point of having a project you can't compete, or receive money for, or even choose from. In my opinion Buyers are to give full freedom to ANY designer, to come up with ANY visual design, whatever that might be, according to the brief and CHOOSE from them at last. I keep receiving emails from Crowdspring staff, and thinking, this might be important, but no, it is just comments after comments of people being impatient, or buyers NOT being satisfied with the outcome. I'm surprised because these visuals ARE AMAZING. Some of the designers PUT TIME into them, and I say this by experience. I have a great portfolio that it took time to build that up.

I came here, and became a member, I took the time to enter into a few projects, but the only email I get is in regards to either a delay from buyer, and delay from Crowdspring Staff, and I'm really unhappy with this whole process.
There must be a way of better comunication, and i'm sorry to say, but the only ones making money to my eyes is the Crowdspring staff.

Again, I am really unhappy with this experience. Freelancers often need cash, quick pocket change to survive, and EVEN with great portfolio you cannot rely on this site, unfortunately.

I do agree with "innershell" the first 5 designers should get a chunk of the total amount of the project prize, it ONLY makes sense. People have great work here and NOT being rewarded for, its a bit of a huge turn off, specially for freelancers.

I would rather not have an account here anymore.
Buyers are unhappy, Freelancers don't get rewarded, and Crowdspring ends up with the money, I'm sorry but this is just not a good combination. (less)

I agree. I think the prize should be awarded to the top 5 designers. It kinda keeps the machine greased and going sort of thing. Why not, in these situations, split the prize money amongst the higher rated submissions? Honestly, I feel cheated that mine was ranked by the buyer as high as the winning one and I get awarded nothing. Logoist, your logo is good, however, I feel it's no stronger than mine or others for that matter. but nonetheless, congratulations.

We require, for all projects, that buyers escrow funds with us prior to posting their project to make sure that the funds are in place and to protect creatives in a situation where the buyer "abandons" the project. Unfortunately, this happened in this project. We made efforts on at least five separate occasions over a period of weeks to communicate with the buyer to request them to make a selection - the buyer has not. Per our rules, a panel at crowdSPRING reviewed the entries and selected the winning designer. Although we realize that it would have been best if the buyer made the selection, we hope that this is a reasonable outcome. Thanks so much for your understanding and patience with this process. What puravida is saying in not-so-many words is since he didn't think any of the designs was good enough to win, nobody should get the money. There are many sites which focus too much on protecting the buyers, designers are left with little protection against theft and little assurance that the prize they are competing for actually exists. I like this site a lot, the steps they've taken to even the playing field and ensure everyone is happy are phenomenal.

If a contest has more than 25 entries, a winner has to be chosen, too much time was invested at that point for someone not to be awarded. Pura, at that point you should've made it a point to provide more feedback to improve the nature of the submissions you were getting. I'm sorry you didn't feel anyones work was worth the prize and I wish you the best of luck on your project. (less)

vvv As crowdSPRING mentioned 2 days ago, the buyer must select a winning entry by end of day today. It's not that time yet, so we will have to be patient.

As we've previously said, some buyers need a little extra time to make a choice. (We request that buyers make a decision within seven days after their project ends. We require buyers to escrow funds so that we do not run into a situation where a buyer simply abandons a project). We very much hope the buyer picks an entry - there are some outstanding entries in this project. However, in the event we don't hear from the buyer, a panel at crowdSPRING will make the decision and someone WILL receive the award. We do appreciate everyone's patience and understanding throughout this process. (less)
