Creative brief

Our company currently produces two salad dressings (Garlic Vinaigrette & Marinade and a Caesar Dressing) with the plans of producing two more dressings (Ranch Dressing and Asian Vinaigrette) in the next year. We will also be branching out into other food products (croutons, cookies, pasta sauces, etc.) as the years progress. Think of our growth like how Paul Newman's Own brand launched and has grown. Our products are all natural and with health in mind. Our closest competition right now is Annie's Naturals (www.anniesnaturals.com) & Organicville (www.organicvillefoods.com). Our products are currently carried in a number of small stores and Whole Foods Market in Southern CA.
The business is woman-owned and a true "ma & pa" company (husband & wife team). Our website is www.sismeliss.com for reference. From the website you will see our logo has been homemade from the start. We have used the garlic bulb for some time; however we know we may have to lose that in order to expand the brand.
We have been very partial to green and purple and using the font of Lucida Handwriting. We like the colors, but we are open up to anything. We want the logo to be eye-catching but not too modern. Our audience tends to be adults 25-54 who don’t mind spending a few extra dollars for good taste and good quality product that is healthier than 95% of the other salad dressings on the shelf.
The new logo design is also part of a larger redesign of our bottle labels. We will use the logo mainly for stationary, business cards, t-shirts and our website. We might use it for our bottle redesign, but are not sure. Currently our bottle labels are designed around hand-drawings of items/ingredients’ in the salad dressings. We like this aspect but we have to really work on making it look more professional. If you would like to see the labels, I have uploaded them to this request. The current labels have to be changed to make our products more appealing to other regions of Whole Foods. We have to convert to appearing more professional and one of the "big boys" like Annie’s and Organicville.
If you have any questions, please email me at Richard@Sismeliss.com. If you like a good salad dressing and marinade, you will be well stocked by us with some of the best in the business. 8-)
