Creative brief

I am designing a web application/community centered around the growing hobby of pro-am digital photography. It enables photographers to globally 'compete' amongst each other for a variety of lighthearted honors and badges, while gaining insight and constructive criticism from more seasoned photographers.

I am looking for something iconic and minimalist that would look great on a bright (#F3F3F1) background. I have used a hot magenta color (#FF3E82) in a lot in my CSS work, and would like to see it implemented as well in the logo. I like toying w/ the idea of the double-meaning of 'saw'...

I threw together a 'placeholder' logo to get my bearings (attached)-- but as you can tell I'm no artist ;)
