LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
Stuckey & Company is an insurance MGA (Managing General Agent) offering specialty insurance programs to independent insurance agents across the country. Stuckey offers specialty insurance programs from large carriers (Hartford, Travelers, etc.) that would not be accessible to independent agents on their own. In effect they are the middle man between the insurance giants and the small, independent insurance agent.
Stuckey’s primary product lines are insurance programs for Technology Companies (SafetyTek), Architects & Engineers (Aspire A&E), and Marinas and Boat Dealers (HarborGuard). The company has been in business for 20 years and has a strong reputation for excellent customer service and competitive pricing.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
Stuckey would like to update its website (www.stuckey.com) to a more professional corporate image while maintaining an approachable, family business feel. The current site does not have the polished look the company wishes to project. It is viewed as busy and complicated, without enough “white” space.
The upper section (logo bar) takes up too much space, and the amount of text on the rest of the page contributes to a crowded appearance that is potentially confusing. In addition, the site is very copy-intensive in an attempt to maximize SEO efforts; the company feels that much of this content could be moved to the lower portion of the homepage to allow for a cleaner appearance on the screen.
Content pages (e.g. Technology, A&E, Professional Liability product pages) are likewise busy and somewhat disorganized, with excessive text and not enough eye-capturing structure of design.
Specifically, as part of this design project, we need the following pages to provide a template for completing the entire site re-design:
(1) Home Page which should include prominent navigation for the following:
o Products (i.e. Tech Insurance, A&E Insurance, etc.)
o Request A Quote
o Agent Alert Newsletter
o Find an Agent
o Sign-in / Register to become an agent
o Homepage should also incorporate the following:
Recent blog article feed (Agent Alert newsletter box with excerpts)
Room for some text/content to maintain SEO results
Featured Product/News section displaying/linking to featured product of the month (new element)
(2) Product Template page- To be used as a guide for maintaining uniformity among product pages. Currently, product pages each contain similar elements, but the organization is not uniform, and the structure needs improvement. The Product Template page must include (or leave room for) the following elements:
o Product title
o Product logo
o Room for copy/product description
o Contacts section
o Downloads section (i.e. pdfs, applications, etc.)
o Submission Requirements.
o Geographic Availability
o Eligible Classes section
o Room for misc. subpage links (example: “Loss Scenarios” and “Want a free list” buttons on the current A&E page)
o See the attached pdf for an example of a proposed structure for this template
(3) Find an Agent page
o Pulls from Stuckey agent database
o Powered by Google maps
o Looking for improvements (more intuitive, more interactive)
See target.com, qdoba.com, and jimmyjohns.com
(4) Stuckey History/Timeline page (new)
o Visually interesting, even interactive, timeline that shows the Stuckey company history (see attachment for content details)
(5) Contact Us page
o New, fresh approach to the current list of Stuckey staff members
