Brief updates

Hi all.

Thanks to everyone for the great submissions. Having seen your ideas, and gotten feedback from clients and advisers, we have an update to the briefing:

-- A globe should be part of the design.

-- A lightbulb should NOT be part of the design.

-- The colors are blue, black and white. The blue should be "electric", to stand out against a black blackground.

-- The word "Services" is optional. We like the name Lampada Global and it looks good in many of the designs. However, designs that emphasize Lampada and put Global Services together in smaller type are also interesting and potential winners.

-- The tag line "The Open Source Specialists" is optional, but we like the designs that include it.

-- We are interested in seeing an iconic globe used in different ways: to the left, right, inside the "o" of "global", wrapping the whole thing, behind the whole thing, curved around the left or the right, etc.

-- We like the "a" and "g" of the Trebuchet font, because they break up the too many circles look of other fonts (e.g. Arial) in the worlds lampadaglobal. That is, in many fonts, an "a" or a "g" is just an "o" with an extension.

A word about lightbulbs and the color green:

The feedback we got was that the lightbulb icons make it seem that we sell lighting rather than software. The green, especially with the word global and a globe, looks great, but suggests an environmental organization, rather than a software company.

Please see File 6 on this page. We like this enough to use it as is, and award the prize to drtweb, although we would love to see designs that make it even better.
