LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We are a mixed martial arts retailer that is developing an in house clothing line, similar to how retailers like Target produce their own clothing, but not under the Target name.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We need a logo for the line and potentially a new name other than our working concept which is Mallee. We like the name but are completely open to other concepts. The logo will be put on clothing and also shown on websites.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
18-35 year old males who are fans of mixed martial arts and may also train in it. These are passionate fans with a discerning taste, so the logo needs to come off professional and not patronizing to the fact that its a combat sport (i.e no blood, cage print, etc).
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
Lots of skate/surf/sports designs and names - simple, clear, but memorable. All are single words, often very unique and each can easily be stylized and reprinted.
Adidas
Billabong
DC
Element
Nike
Volcom
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
If working off a different name than Mallee, then stay away from words and designs that are cliche like "fighting, gear, cage, combat, submission, KO, etc."... all that has been overdone and our customer doesn't need to be told through the name that it is a fighting brand. Also no blood, no cage print, nothing too violent. Skate/Surf cos. are a great example of this. Billabong just has a small wave to indicate surfing - something like that is acceptable. Also, you cannot use the Octagon in any designs as it is trademarked.
