LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We're a software company releasing another product in the next couple of months.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
The product is CrewPath. Is is a web/mobile-based application to help service companies estimate jobs, schedule and route crews, bill jobs, track expenses, and learn a lot about their businesses. It is SAAS and will have heavy mobile use.
The logo will be used on the web site but probably not the mobile site.
The logo will also be used in printed marketing materials, magazine advertising, and on clothing.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Owners and managers of service companies. Think Lawn Care companies, computer/network installation/repair companies, plumbers, electricians, etc. Most are small business with an owner doing a lot of the work and making a lot of the decisions. Will range from blue collar with little technical background to people comfortable with technology. Primary selling points are mobility and the ability to take business data with them, as well as ease of use. Overall design of the app is very simple and clean. Logo should follow suit.
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
I'll see if I can find some examples but for now ... I prefer sans serif fonts. It needs an icon that is simple enough that it will be usable at small sizes. The icon or a portion of the icon should look good when converted to ~50 px square for use as an iPhone icon.
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
We must have logo with icon. I am a bit tired of seeing little stick people in logos. Otherwise I'm open to icon content. The Path in CrewPath comes from our ability to map and route crews, so something denoting mapping or routing may be good. Mobility/smart phone access may also be something to think about with the icon since that will be a major selling point.
