We help our residents be as independent as possible, we protect their dignity in our approach to care, we protect their privacy as to their life and care needs, and we provide them "choice" as to how they are provided their ... We emphasize a "resident driven" approach to service and care. Our mission is four words: "Independence, Dignity, Privacy, Choice". We help our residents be as independent as possible, we protect their dignity in our approach to care, we protect their privacy as to their life and care needs, and we provide them "choice" as to how they are provided their care. All, unlike traditional nursing homes that think of them as patients who they decide how to care for and when to care for them. So, we want to convey a "positive, fulfilling quality of life" available for a loved one, and are careful not to convey stereotypical "ageism" of older people of advanced age. You know, the "Sunny Acres" and "Golden Years" kind of offensive stuff to people who don't think of themselves as old. "You have a very nice Community here. I don't need it though. These people all need care and I'm only 94." Hope that helps. (less)
