LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Fashionism.com is an online shopping magazine positioned in the luxury and contemporary fashion space. The site will feature fresh daily content from our team of writers based in NY, LA, & London. Content will include the following categories: street style, fashion events, fashion trends, celebrity wear, designer profiles & fashionable places in the city. The site will also feature a contemporary and luxury shopping engine, community forums, and private sale botique.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We are looking for a logo that will be hip enough to be contemporary (so we can work with brands like Alice & Olivia, Ali Ro, Alexander Wang & Marc Jacobs) but can straddle the fence with luxury (so we can work with brands like Gucci & Burberry). However, if the logo can not straddle the fence it would lean more towards contemporary. We will be working with a lot of the brands you see on shopbop.com & Bloomingdales.com. The logo will be used on our website (most important) and then eventually on our business cards.

We think that it would work to have a stress on the 'ism' part of fashionism. ******The definition of an 'ism' is: (ism [iz-uh m]: A distinctive doctrine, system, or theory) Our site is looking like it is probably going to be grey, white space, and red. We have toyed with making the 'ism' red to stress it but we are looking for all kinds of ideas.

Also, we would like the '.com' included as part of the logo

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

At launch time the magazine’s sole focus is content, community and shopping for women ages 22-38. By February 2010, Fashionism.com aims to also have these components for men and so our design should not alienate men. We are going for an edgy, yet luxurious feel.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We have uploaded a mockup of our completed website. While it will not look exactly like this - this should give you an idea for the look and feel. To see the website in its development stages - view here: www.Fashionism.com/wp

Here are logos we like: Marc Jacobs, Rebecca Minkoff, Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, inStyle.com, Balenciaga

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

We must have the .com included (unless someone has a compelling idea of why/how not to)

Let me reword this as we are getting way too much techy looking submissions and not high fashion ones. Here are some more logos we like: shopstyle.com, nylon magazine. We are trying to play with both contemporary and luxury brands, but if you can't straggle the fence we would lean towards luxury. We want strong, clean lines. Also, probably a play on the 'ism' as that is what makes our name unique. Please no more tech looking logos. Think more marc jacobs' and shopstyle's website than Armani Exchange's website.
