LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

The Creative Awards Company is a full-service performance improvement and recognition agency. We help our clients communicate their brands internally and externally through the development and operation of recognition systems, incentives, and promotions. Creative started as an award and engraving shop twenty years ago; unfortunately our first impression is still that of a “trophy shop.” Your mission is to assist the re-development of our brand and culture through the creation of a new, powerful logo that can rid us of the mom & pop trophy shop image.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a new, up to date logo that can be use on all forms of media; primarily web, print, promotional products and apparel….cuz that’s what we do!

Key words - Customer Intimacy, professional, knowledgeable, innovative, excited, interest, impactful, memorable, brand, solutions, design, communication, young, fresh, clever

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Corporate business clients – retail, consumer packaging, banking and educational institutions.
Specifically: Marketing, Brand, Executives and Assistants, Human Resources and Sales Managers.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Case options: Creative, creative, CREATIVE, or initials: c, ca, cai
Color: we gravitate towards medium greens and blues (285), but are open to suggestions.
Font suggestions: san-serif, modern, contemporary.
We would like the design to be 2-3 colors, but also look great as a one-color imprint

Do not like:

Colors: darks, pastels, metallics
Icons: no trophies, apparel or promotional items (pens, mugs), no shields, and no old, archaic stuff.
No half-tones or difficult to pad, embroider or screen print gradients.

Okay, let me be clear with these changes...no CA and no Awards.

I am now living by this quote that I pulled from moi's profile (http://www.crowdspring.com/myspring/profile/moi):

First of all a quote from Sean Adams & Noreen Morioka's book - Logo Design Workbook // I strongly recommend it for every buyer: "In the same way, a logo should not literally describe the client's business; a logo is an identifier. Many clients would like their logo to describe every aspect of their company. This is natural, they're proud of their achievement. It is problematic, however, and may lead to a restraining identity. The logo is a signpost that identifies the company and reflects its attitudes and values. A logo is not an illustration, but a shortcut, a visual language that is quickly recognizable and memorable. An illustration is a drawing or photograph that helps to explain text. Speaking with the most straightforward and clear voice is always more successful than the convoluted or overwrought." I'm a graphic designer, who adores typography. I like simple but clever designs, and try to spread the word about the importance of good typography, which is almost invisible.

Did I provide too much information?

Focus on the icon/symbol, not creative.

Tell me, what kind of feedback will help you with this project?

Where are the professional designers hiding? Thanks to professionals that have presented unique designs and have taken the time to explain the concept. I can rip through a project on illustrator, photoshop, auto cad and many other design oriented softwares, but I need someone outside to assist with our brand renovation. Ask me questions! What do you need from me to create our compelling yet uncomplicated logo. The text message, creative, sends a clear message. I am looking for a logo that is less direct that the text, a bit abstract; something that is recognizable as the Creative logo.

Creatives - you are welcome to pm me if you don't understand my comments or if you need additional information. If I have given you a two rating and requested a few minor changes, I do have interest in your design and highly recommend that you send in your revisions.
