LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Chicago, IL area high school (approx. 4000 students) is hosting its 6th Annual Literary Festival, which is a specially funded day of literature, art, music, theater, and journalism based workshops. Experts (i.e. writers, artists, songwriters, etc) talk about craft and product with students.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a cover design (8.5 x 11) for our promotional brochure. It should be hip and young, appealing to artsy and literary teens (and like- minded people in the community), as well as the artists who give their time to spend the day with us. NOTHING gimmicky or hokey/cheesy (no "Reading is "FUNdamental" type stuff, please:).

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

This year's participants include: The Handsome Family, Davy Rothbart of Found Magazine, The Mountain Goats, and poet Kevin Coval to name a few. Basically, we want a design that is edgy and realistic (while remaining appropriate for a teenage audience). Black and white or saturated color photography, as well as mixed media, make us happy.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

We MUST have the following things or phrases in the design:
1) there should be space at the bottom for artist names (see file included)
2) the following phrase: The New Trier Educational Foundation is Proud to Present
3) the event: 6th Annual Literary Festival
4) The date: November 6, 2009
5) New Trier High School logo (enclosed)
