LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Thriller House is a new brand which will distribute Thriller films. It's important to note that this IS NOT a horror brand.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a logo that will be able to dress the top of books, posters and dvd's. this logo will also become an animated on screen company logo.

The "Thriller House" logo is what we are selling so it needs to be a prominent, ominous and chilling.

Conceptually it could be the head piece or it could stretch to frame our frame.

We are open, out of the box thinkers so feel free to experiment. Maybe hand drawn gargoyles incorporated into the lettering or some other custom detail to brand it.

That said, it needs to feel 100% "branded".

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Thriller readers are typically college educated who respond to "smart".

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

ghost house pictures ( we like the key hole incorporated into this design)

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Something more than text. Originality

First let me say that we appreciate the response so far.

We plan to start rating and giving notes this evening.

That said, there are a couple obvious problems which have cropped up.
But , please don't withdraw entries until we comment because there may be aspects of your design that actually work.

Keyhole-I gave the ghost house website as an example however we don't care to duplicate their concept in any way.

Horror vs. Thriller-It appears that some are confusing the horror genre with the thriller genre. Consider that movies like Silence of the Lambs are not horror but thriller. Thriller is at it's core smarter and more psychological than horror.

Cartoonish-We want smart not halloween. So what elements, even the simplist elements stir fear.

Lastly the scope of some of the logos would take up an entire dvd box so we need to think more economical...more landscape and less portrait.

WE have enjoyed some of the custom lettering and elements and look forward to developing a true branded logo.

Thanks

Over all the entries have been great.

Moving forward til the end of the contest I would like to avoid the following;

houses

gargoyles

skulls

keyholes

bats

anything that reads "horror"

I'm really feeling the more simplistic designs with great composition and thought.

thanks
