Creative brief

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Crowdkast is an online directory of community events and organizations. Our goal is to connect individuals to the specific communities (or 'crowds') they care about.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We are in need of an illustration of a company mascot to display on the front page and provide users with tips and help messages throughout the app.

It can be anything - you have free reign to come up with any type of character you'd like (using the color scheme we outline below. Don't be afraid to get a little abstract / crazy!

If you are inspired by or want to create a matching logo, our current logo is captured in the attached image file.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

No big requirements besides being warm/inviting and cool enough to put on a t-shirt!

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Our current logo uses the font 'Neuropolitical' and our site's primary color is black (#333) and off-white (#f7f7f7 and sometimes #eee).

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Please provide mascot in multiple poses if possible. (Not a MUST HAVE)

Addendum: I envision a simple, cool character. Definitely not a human, perhaps a stylized/abstract animal (not too real-life looking). Again, a good test for it would be something that would look cool by itself on a t-shirt. :)

On the site itself, the mascot will be used primarily on a white background.

The logo will have a black background (see logoBLACK.psd file, just posted it) - though I am open to new concepts as long as the current feel is preserved.

MISC NOTES:

-- The site is about connecting people with common interests (broadcasting an event to people who like Art and live in New York, for example)

-- The character shouldn't have anything in its hands as it will have a text box above it, explaining something to the user.

-- I'm thinking of something sleek and cool...I hate to give references as it might limit creativity, but something along the same vein as the twitter bird concept or maybe even the fox on the Firefox logo (doesn't have to be a bird or a fox, just giving examples)
