Creative brief

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

The logo is for Mellow Billow, a new Dutch social media agency that will present itself as a consultant and (possibly) development house for companies/organizations seeking assistance with their social media strategy. The agency will advise its customers on the best solutions for their marketing and support through social media networks, like Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

Mellow Billow needs a logo. The logo will primarily be used on a blog/web site. Stationery may follow later, but is not expected at this time. It will be the basis of a new WordPress theme for which a separate design project will be initiated later.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Our customers are businesses seeking social media solutions to improve the relationships with their own customers. Our customers should consider us to be experts on social media and on customer relationship management. We will often be dealing with marketing agencies, so to marketers our logo should convey a message of being trendy and experienced.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We would like a simple stylish logo, with not too many frills. It would be nice if there was some kind of wave (a billow) represented in the logo. (We’ve uploaded some examples of our own ideas.)

We have a preference for a logo that is just a little bit shiny, and with a bit of a 3D effect in it (like the Delicious example).

We prefer the name (Mellow Billow) to be part of the logo (like the SocialThing logo).

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

The background must be white. The two words of the name Mellow Billow should not be joined together (not “MellowBillow” but “Mellow Billow”). The primary colors must be yellow and black, though various shades of yellow and black/grey are OK.
The font family must fit the logo’s style, and the name should be easy to read. The font should not draw to much attention from the logo; it should be a well balanced design between logo & name.
