Dear Designers,

First, allow us to extend to you our apologies that the delay that occurred in the course this project and to say this: this has been an inordinately challenging project to navigate and we are extremely grateful to all of you, a great community of designers, and to Crowdspring, for allowing us a much more forgiving work frame than is customary, to get it through.

This being said, let us also bear witness that Crowdspring’s management has always kept YOUR very best interests in sight– first and foremost. Therefore, without further ado, this project is now coming to a close, with an award, as it should be, to one of you, and we look forward to working with this person or group to bring the project to fruition.

However, during the time that elapsed since the initial posting of this project, we came to realize that our needs were far greater than those that we had first imagined, and that this posting and this award would only cover a portion on what we needed.

Your designs were at least partly responsible for us coming to the realization that, for examples, we were going to need different looks for different price points, or that we were going to need a logo and web pages for another branch of our business, etc, etc.

As a result, we wish to urge each and single one of you to hang on to the creative work you did for this project and to keep your work handy for more postings from us (we do promise to be keeping the normal deadlines in the future- ☺) .

We have seen among your postings where there are strong matches between our needs and your designs, and we will e-mail you personally in the coming days to let you know our thinking.

Again, thank you for your patience and understanding with us. It was a trying, but exhilarating project also, and a truly enlightening experience.

We look forward to continuing working with you and Crowdspring in the near future.

Thanks & best regards,

A few more days to wait for them to run the entries by others, and make an educated decision is a wise move. to all that entered, best wishes! (less)

Ah crap. I thought it was closing today. IN any case, dear buyer: when you put these ideas in front of your client for review, please know that YES, I was able to brainstorm additional ideas for other wines in the line And work on other sides of the box. When the project re-opens, unless the feedback from your client is substantially negative compared to the positive notes you made about my "Van/vin" idea, I'm prepared to submit these additional materials and line extensions.

As a piece of feedback to this project in particular: I am concerned that in the details of the project, the buyer represents themselves as the business in the first person, and now in these notes refers to the final decision maker on this project as THEIR client. Is this a common practice at crowdSPRING? I'm not bothered by it in principle, but when I worked on the material for this project, I understood from the details that my contributions were being critiqued not just by an entity called "buyer" who had put some money into the system, but by an actual decision maker.

It is my strong feeling as a creative that if projects are being posted to the site by a buyer who is actually a representative of a different decision maker, this needs to be made clear in the details. It's a small point, but knowing the scope of "the decision making audience" is part of my own process as a designer and professional. I think the crowdSPRING title of "buyer" is fine, but if that person's decision making power is in another's hands, we need to know. Honestly, it impacts my decision to spend additional time and resources, or pursue refining a design submission during the feedback process before project closure.

In this case, the details section of this project said "We are a small winery..." and "We are looking at marketing..." This use of the word we conveys that the person posting the brief is the actual company doing the decision making. These comments on 9/2 from bwtrade say "the decision to choose a design and a name is not ours, but our clients." This is not clear from the initial creative briefs and is confusing to learn now at the end.

Let me make clear: I am NOT asking that creatives be informed of every person and necessarily even the NAME of companies involved in the request. I AM asking that creatives be informed at the initiation of a project when the buyer is not the final decision maker and instead if they represent another interest. (less)

Hello to all of you who offered your creative minds and your talents to our project: the Wine Box project.

First of all, a big Thank You to all of you and a big WOW! We like a lot of the ideas with which you have come forth, so much so that, if it were up to us to choose one among all, we would have a difficult time. Unfortunately, although we're the ones we posted the project, the decision to choose a design and a name is not ours, but our clients. We are creating the Bag-in-Box wine to fulfill a specific client's request. Obviously, without a client, a small company like us could not launch such a huge production. Therefore, we must now wait for our client's feedback before we can proceed further.

The managers of crowdSPRING and ourselves have had lengthy brainstorming talks to see how best to handle this complexity while ensuring that all of you who have given your time and effort to our project feel respected and treated fairly in this matter.

To that end, we have asked crowdSPRING to put the project on hold for the next three weeks to give us time to work with our client and get
their feedback. We will share all this feedback with you when the project re-opens. In addition our client and ourselves will research the availability of the names the client likes and their "copyrighteability." This is not work we expect you to do.

We thank you very much for your understanding and cooperation in this matter and we look forward to your future contributions to this
complex but exciting project. All your comments are welcome, both to crowdSPRING and to us, and we will continue to communicate with you as candidly as always.

Thank you again and warmest regards to you all; we'll be back in touch shortly. (less)

Hi everyone,

At the request of the buyer we have agreed to allow them to take some extra time and re-open this project in 3 weeks time. This is an unusual step for us, but we think that this is an unusual project and that we want to help out. The buyer need some time to consult with their client and determine which f the names/designs are working for them and, at that point, have a few days to iterate and revise before choosing a winning entry.

Thanks so much for your patience and thanks so much for participating!

-The crowdSPRING Crew
