Creative brief

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

We provide a simple way for online shoppers to buy gift certificates from small independent businesses in boutique vacation towns across the United States…and eventually beyond.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a Logo, Favicon and 5 pieces of stationery. For the initial submission the logo, business card and one piece of stationery are what we need to see. BUT the logo, all 5 pieces of stationery and favicon are necessary for the final proposal to be awarded.

Logo:
The purpose of our logo is to spark the emotions of joy and happiness when giving or receiving the perfect gift.
We need 2 versions of our logo:
1. A logo/graphic along with (or within) the stylized text “OhGoodyGoody.com”
2. A logo/graphic including our tag line: “Give the perfect gift!”. Please emphasize the word “perfect”.
We’ll use our logo for all of our branding including our: website, mailers, business cards, business window/door stickers (like the “We accept MasterCard/Visa”), trade show give-aways and all promotional materials.
The logo should be:
1. Recognizable from a distance
2. Show up in black and white
3. Scalable
4. A unique, fun font that is bold and easy to read

Favicon:
A favicon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Favicon), that little icon in front of the web address (16x16 pixel square icon associated with a particular website).

Envelopes:
We will be using 2 envelopes to send each gift certificate. A larger metallic envelope will be the outer envelope and the smaller vellum envelope will fit inside the mailing envelope. WITH ALL STATIONERY, PLEASE CREATE YOUR DESIGN IN LAYERS WITHOUT FLATTENING THE LAYERS. We would like clean designs, NO 4 sided bleeds (3 sided bleeds ok), and no large dark colored solid areas (10% screen ok).
1.Larger Metallic A-8 (5 ½”x 8-1/8”) envelope (design on front, non flap side):
The purpose of the outer envelope is to mail the inner envelope holding the gift certificates and card, create excitement when receiving the envelope in the mail, and to recognize and connect it to the brand OhGoodyGoody.com.
The outer delivery envelope must include our return address in the upper left hand corner, our logo, space for the mailing address, stamp and the rest is up to you. Here is a link to an envelope example that we really like (the envelope in the upper left corner of this group is our favorite): http://www.envelopemall.com/Group1Reg.jpg
Suggestions are welcome for the metallic color of the envelope (examples of envelope colors: http://www.envelopemall.com/detail.aspx?ID=431) and ink. Please keep in mind that 1 or 2 color ink printing are the options and that the recipients address will be printed in black (has to show up on envelope color and/or over a screen).

2. Inner Vellum A-7 (5-1/4”x7-1/4”) envelope (design on front, non flap side):
The purpose of the vellum envelope is to fit inside the metallic envelope and carry the gift certificate(s) until they are redeemed. Unlike the outer metallic envelope that will likely be thrown away, this one will be kept and carried around as a “gift-wrap”. The recipient should be able to recognize and connect this gift-wrap to the brand OhGoodyGoody.com. It should also include a version of the logo and stylized font.

Single Fold 5”x7” note card:
Paper area is 5x7 with fold along 7”. The note card must include the logo and stylized font and coordinate with the metallic envelope. Your creative suggestions for paper color and ink are welcome. With all stationery, please create your design in layers without flattening the layers. The purpose of the note card is personally corresponding with clients and merchants for various reasons.

Business Card:
We’d like a unique, fun and sophisticated business card. Various print technique and card stock ideas are welcomed. What we don’t want is an extremely expensive business card. With all stationery, please create your design in layers without flattening the layers.

Gift Certificate:
The 5”x7” certificate will be on a white photo quality copy paper. With all stationery, please create your design in layers without flattening the layers.
The certificate must be easily identifiable as gift certificate and include:
OhGoodyGoody.com logo
Spaces for:
• Name of bearer
• Name of giver
• $ Amount
• Redeemable at: Merchant, address, phone
• Gift Cert 20 digit number
• Issue date
• Our address, phone
• Not redeemable for cash. Good for one year from date of purchase.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Research shows 60% of our customers will be females over the age of 30, have a college education, make over $50,000/yr., and spend an average of $116 per visit to our site. BUT our target audience at Christmas and Valentines Day is Males over 55 spending over $150. We also have a corporate sales plan and a bridal registry. As you can see…a fanciful, cutesy image is not what we want to create. We need to convey with SOPHISTICATED ENTHUSIASM that the gift is not only perfect for the receiver but also perfect for the giver to give!

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

We hesitate to put anything here because we don’t want to steer your creative abilities.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Don’t want to see:
• Please don’t submit anything that resembles generic clip art (Christmas present, familiar shopping bag).
• We don’t want a thin font that is light in color or difficult to read in small sizes.

Must have:
• The logo and font have to be simple, identifiable, and readable.
• We would consider a logo that worked the graphic into the name.
• For the initial submission the logo, business card and one piece of stationery are what we need to see. BUT the logo, all 5 pieces of stationery and favicon are necessary for the final proposal to be awarded.

Brief updates

Stationery - Our stationery needs are different than the standard. Please look at the size and material specifications.
Larger Metallic A-8 (5 ½”x 8-1/8”) envelope (design on front only, non flap side):
This outer mailing envelope should evoke the same joy and happiness, when it shows up in the mailbox, that a gift does when someone hands it to you in person. The example we provided used a screen technique on the metallic envelope that we really like. Please take a look at both of the links.
Hope this helps!

Logo - Some of the logos and stationery are very feminine. When we look at the logos, we ask ourselves:
-How would a man feel receiving this envelope or gift certificate in the mail?
-How would this look embroidered on a cap or t-shirt?
-Is the logo unique enough to be recognized someday as OhGoodyGoody.com without having our name attached to it?
