LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Umm, we're crowdSPRING - duh!

If you're wondering about who we are then take a look around the site - we're the guys who built this thing. We're fun, creative, laid-back, insanely handsome and generally all-around cool dudes (and one dude-ette). But, most of all, we're building the creative marketplace - and that means that we're creative so anything we have that represents us (including our business cards) needs to be REALLY creative.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

We need a stationery package that will eventually include business cards, letterhead and envelopes. But, to be honest, the business cards are what we go through the most of (in fact, I don't think we've ever used a piece of letterhead yet!) so let's definitely concentrate most of the effort on those.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Our site is actually aimed at two totally different audiences: small businesses and designers. Even though these groups are very different, they do have one thing in common: an appreciation for great creativity! So, whatever design we choose has to be so good that it screams creativity. When we hand our cards to small businesses, we want them to say, "man, I wish I had a card like that!". And when we hand our card to designers and other creatives, we want them to be impressed and respect the work that we got through our very own site.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

In the 'Materials' section (to the left), we'll upload the current designs that we're using for our cards. As you can see, they're simple, clean, modern and creative. That's what we're looking for in a design! So feel free to be creative and be different. Do NOT just give us our logo on a card with the info typed on the back. The more creative the entry, the more we'll like it! In fact, just hit Google for some inspiration and you'll find loads of amazing card designs like these:

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

I don't think there's a single thing that our design 'must' have. We're open to just about any ideas and, in fact, we like things that are creative and different! Obviously, there are some things that in general help tie the design to crowdSPRING (our blue color, the logo, etc.) but, again, you don't HAVE to use them.

In fact, we each have different business cards here in the office and some of them don't have any blue at all, some of them don't have a logo at all - so feel free to be creative and give us ideas that are different. We're the creative marketplace!

Brief updates

Hey guys - we're off to a great start! Now that we've seen a few designs, I thought I'd give a couple pieces of feedback that we're realizing along the way.

1. As I look at these, I realize that we're trying to strike a balance between three main things: creativity, good design, and cost. Ideas that just have one or two of these things (really creative and great design but crazy high cost) probably won't work out in the end. So I wanted to throw that out there. I know it's tough to balance all three but you'll notice that this is where our feedback will sort of be directed. The card that strikes the best balance between these three will probably be our winner!

2. No matter what your design is, try to give us some comments about why you think it's good for cS and, most importantly, how it relates to 'the creative marketplace'. That is, a design can be really wacky and out there - which would be fun - but if it can't be related back to who we are, then it's just sort of a distraction. Know what I mean? So just be sure we keep everything relating back to this central theme somehow and we'll be great!

Thanks again everyone and keep 'em coming!
