LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:
We are developing an exclusive website for students (undergrad and grad) to review local bar/restaurants, etc. Students will be able to post reviews, read reviews, track particular posters and send reviews to other students.
HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:
We are in the process of developing our website. We need a logo. The logo will be displayed prominently on our homepage and throughout the website on email communications, etc. We would like the logo to contain our website name (chattersource) and potentially have a graphic above or to the left of the name (we’ll get a better sense depending on what people come up with). Any graphics should be relevant to our project description. The words “chatter” and “source” should be displayed as one word and differentiated (either by capitalization, colors, font, etc.). We would also like a logo that can be condensed into a recognizable icon for link placement on other sites (e.g. – like twitter’s “t”icon, or crowdSPRING’s “cS”).
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:
Undergraduate and graduate students (gender neutral) that will be reading and posting reviews (i.e. like to know what is going on in a city, like to eat, drink, and be merry).
WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:
Mothersclick.com – Like the two words condensed into one word but clearly differentiates the words “Mothers” and “Click”. The logo is also simple and clearly displayed and fun. We don’t want any words below our logo.
Bookglutton.com – simple, clear, bold—toying with the idea of a graphic and a semi-border
Twittermoms.com – simple, bold. Clearly differentiates two words combined into one. Toying with the idea of a border
Twitter.com – easily recognizable font (important if we go with no graphic).
Digg- easily recognizable font (important if we go with no graphic).
WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:
We absolutely must have: simple, clear, easily recognizable logo. Bold, fresh, fun, and gender neutral colors (e.g., fresh blue/green). Chattersource should be one word, but easily differentiates the words “chatter” and “source”--- can play with capitalization, different colors, fonts to accomplish that goal
We don’t want to see: nothing too young, but nothing too sophisticated (remember age range). Nothing too busy or with too many colors. No animation. No music, sound. No ".com" in the logo, just "chattersource."
