LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Foodaku is a new start-up aiming to connect foodies. The name comes from food + otaku which is a Japanese term for someone with an obsessive interest (geek). (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otaku).

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

The logo (picture or lettering) will be used as the main logo of the website and in ads. We are looking for something with a web 2.0 feel (clean & simple) but unique at the same time. You can choose to either have all lettering for the logo or combine a graphic & letters. Think twitter & bird, not necessarily the feel of the logo but the idea of having either represent the website.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Our target audience is people who are really into food, wine, coffees and traveling.

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

Completely open to your interpretation. Keep in mind that the main theme is food + people.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Please do not use clip art in your logo submissions.

Don't be afraid to use graphics/illustrations as well. We don't want just "twitter" or "skype" font spelling out "foodaku". Thank you!

Thanks to iMadeThis for pointing this out but please be aware if you're separating the words "food" and "aku" through font or color, "aku" means "demon" in Japanese. Any other combination such as "daku" or "ku" or "odaku" (sounds like "otaku") is safe as far as I know.

Thank you!

The logo should not have an "asian" or "japanese" theme. Also, the typography is the most important part so please focus on a design that stands on it's own with any graphic or illustration worked into the lettering.
Any graphic or illustration would have to stand on its own, separate from the letter logo.
