Creative brief

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

I am involved in publiic school reform efforts in Maryland. Issues come up in the state general asssembly and at the county school board level where the outcome of a deliberation could, and indeed almost surely would be affected by whether or not the decionmakers hear from those most affected, the children. we want to teach teachers and school adminstrator techniques for facilitating student participation in the process. The most likely activities would be organzing call-in campaigns and generating attendance at public meetings.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

a logo that captures the idea of children participating in the political debate by engaging with political leaders directly. the logo will be used on petitions and lettherhead, T-shirts and the like

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

school children and their parents, but nonthreatening to bureaucrats and politicians. In fact, something that the politicians would want to be seen as supporting

WE LIKE THESE DESIGNS:

check out the official websit for the state of maryland for colors and symbols that are familier to people in the state. in other words, giving it a recognizably "Maryland" feel would be a plus, I think (though not required) Also, consider that anything that evokes the Chesapeake Bay resonates with everyone here.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE (or we don't want to see) THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

this is not a strident, "stop bitching, start a revolution' thing but rather more a warm and fuzzy, middle class, town hall concept.
