By the way, you have the shot of Debbie with her hair and her blue eye and the spot on her cheek in one piece, but then I've provided them all separately—not really sure if that helps or not. Since the story is about a woman who wears the wig and the contacts etc as part of her porn persona, who is trying to break away from the porn business, you may want to show her in her natural state, without any of that. Or you may want to show all the artifices (such as the wig and the contacts, etc) that she's unloading. Sorry....I know it when I see it!

EVERYBODY!! Please tuck that Doubleday logo away! Nobody buys a book because it's published by Doubleday. It does need to be on the poster, but small and in a corner, for example, next to "Published by Doubleday". The important elements here are the headline, the title of the book and Debbie.

Reminder: This is a poster for a book, yes, but it has to have a porn sensibility: garish, glitzy, brightly lit, in your face, tacky. Many of these designs have conquered the basic layout challenge, i.e., weighing the elements and laying them out harmoniously. Now we need to ramp up the porn.
6-Apr-14 2:42 p.m. GMT
Clarification: By ramping up the porn, I don't mean adding anything explicit. I'm referring to the porn aesthetic—glitz, tackiness, bad lighting, cheese, camp, often mocking of traditional culture. Often satirical in a very broad way. Check out this gallery of vintage porn posters: http://www.ebaumsworld.com/pictures/view/81734818/. Look at "Flesh Gordon"! You can see an aesthetic that runs through them.

I realize that the imagery I have given you to work with isn't all that, so it has to be added graphically with type design, graphic elements, color, etc. But no need to add body parts.

Hi all. I'm seeing some very nice designs with all the elements weighed appropriately and in the right place. Now we just need the right amount of glitz, camp and porn style to to put it over the top, and that will have to come from elements other than what I provided. It may not be helpful but here's a little something about the plot: http://knopfdoubleday.com/book/117970/debbie-do...

We are extending the deadline only because we want to publicize the project to Mosley's fans and to the media in general.
10-Apr-14 9:39 p.m. GMT
Clarification on the extension: I feel like I have some great creative, thanks to all! I did not extend the deadline looking for more, though if some should come in it will be considered. We want to publicize some of the entries via a Focus Group that we'll open to various media outlets, incl Mosley's Facebook Page.
