Creative brief

The buyer added updates to the brief. Read them.

Business Name

Pagoda Pizza

What do you do?

Our Company, Product and Target Audience – We are a hip, Asian food truck currently feeding the denizens of Stillwater, Oklahoma. Our staple dish is "Okonomiyaki" which is Japanese for “Everything you want, grilled. We simply call it Asian Comfort Food. It's about the size of a personal pizza, hence the name.

How many pages of print design do you need?

There are TWO sides to our Food Truck that need "enhancement" – the BACK SIDE and the FRONT SIDE, where the service window and kitchen entrance is located.

List the size requirement(s) for your print design

THE CATCH: Our production budget is tight, so your design has to be restricted to 75 square feet (which is roughly HALF the Back OR Front Sides of the trailer). HOW you prioritize AND slice up that 75 square feet to fit your design esthetic is YOUR CALL.

The BACK SIDE of the Trailer is a completely blank slate. It measures 20 feet wide by approximately 7 feet 6 inches high; please note that there’s the wheel well that cuts out about 30-inches by 7 feet at the bottom (see photos). The other space to design for is the FRONT SIDE of the trailer. There is currently the company logo to the left of the window, along with some social media information below that, to the left of the wheel well. The focus for designing on the FRONT SIDE of the trailer should be the area to the right of the window (but left of the door) as well as the door panel and the small area to the right of that. Please see the attached photos for details.

What is your industry?

Food and Beverage

Describe the target audience for your print design

Our target audience are those adventurous people looking for a tasty, custom- made, food experience alternative.

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your print design?

Whimsical. Edgy. HIP.

We are looking to spruce up our Food Truck’s signage with something a little more whimsical, “edgy” and hip – think Godzilla on a rampage through a Tokyo skyline or some samurai slicing through the the trailer’s edge/corner. Any design elements that evoke the kitsch nature of Japanese pop culture (anime, kung fu, hello kitty, etc) are fair game for inspiration. Please view our website graphics to get a feel for what we’re trying to accomplish.

What colors do you want to see in your print design?

While the sky's the limit with respect to the design, it would be best to incorporate the basic color palette as identified in the logo files attached.

Company Colors: Black. Pantone 187c (Red). Pantone 145c (Orange).

What colors do you NOT want to see in your print design?

While the sky's the limit with respect to the design, it would be best to incorporate the basic color palette as identified in the logo files attached.

What adjectives should best describe your print design?

Playful Kitsch. Fun. Love of Japanese Culture.

How will you use the print design?

The finished artwork will be for direct output and application onto our Food Truck.

What content must be included in the print design?

Mandatory Elements to Include in your Design

There ARE a couple mandatory corporate items to be included...somewhere: 1) The word “Okonomiyaki” with it’s definition “Everything you want, Grilled” (consider using the phonetic variation o/ko/no/mi/YA'/ki (noun) ); 2) the company logo (either variation); 3) Social Media Icons (Twitter, FB, Instagram); 4) the URL; 5) Up to 2 Food Shots.

The logo and high-resolution food photos are provided (see attached).

Designers! I am sorry if I hadn't clarified before, but the FRONT SIDE of the Trailer already has a company logo on the left side of the window, in addition to the social media icons along the bottom edge. Therefore, you do NOT have to include these elements on the FRONT Design Canvas...IF you're choosing to design for this side.

I have uploaded a current snapshot of the FRONT SIDE of the Trailer for your review. This image is/was available for viewing on Pagoda Pizza's Facebook Fan Page, as well as on the corporate website.

I apologize if this information was not readily apparent in the initial Creative Brief.

We've made adjustments to better clarify the Creative Brief, based on your initial queries.

Therefore, in order for our current design entrants to make adjustments to their submissions – as well as provide others with the opportunity to throw their creative hats into the ring – we are extending our deadline.

Thanks to everyone that's participated thus far and we look forward to seeing all future submissions!

A designer requested that we add the Logo files as separate PDFs for download, since they are having issues with extracting content from ZIP Archives. We have just added 2 logo PDF versions (horizontal & vertical) with the tag lines included.

Please note: these 2 PDFs are included in the original ZIP Archive for the Logo Files, so you do NOT have to download these 2 new duplicate files if you have the ZIP Archive.

Hi all,

We just wanted to let you know that the buyer in this project has requested a refund. And, because we offer Buyers a money back guarantee, sometimes we have to make good on that promise.

Thanks so much for your efforts and creativity.
