What do you do?

Whether we live in San Francisco, Sao Paulo, or Shanghai, we want the same things to be happy: live healthy lifestyles, learn new skills, and achieve our potential.

FutureCrafting helps early adopters use technology to make more intentional choices, grow more positive habits, and become their best self.

We connect researchers, innovators and early adopters who are exploring technologies like quantification, gamification and augmentation for wellness and learning.

We create guides, courses and experiences to help early adopters use technology to become self-aware, set meaningful goals and motivate themselves to change.

We catalyze new opportunities for organizations and entrepreneurs to create such technologies through insights databases, inspiration workshops, and innovation challenges.

Consulting and Professional Services

Describe the target audience for your print design

Organizations, entrepreneurs and creatives who are using crowdsourcing, or interested in learning more about it.

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your print design?

Three trends are defining the future of crowdsourcing:

1. Input: From asking community members to create original contributions to curating contributions that already exist elsewhere.
2. Output: From searching for the best contributions from community members to synthesizing contributions from community members into something new.
3. Focus: From crowdsourcing content, ideas or software from community members to crowdsourcing money, products or services from community members.

As a result, the crowdsourcing opportunity space has expanded from Search + Creation + Content to various combinations of Search/Synthesis + Creation/Curation + Content/Things.

What print design styles do you like?

All these designs have a clean design with a striking image, accompanied by the book title, subtitle, and author's name in large fonts. These covers are stunning in full size, but still visible in thumbnail size.

Hi Participants,

Thank you for your participation in the project and some really creative entries.

I am extending the deadline of the project, because I haven't had time to give you detailed feedback on the submissions due to some unexpected travel, and I feel that a few more days would help us get to a design that is truly amazing.

I'll share an update to the brief on what is working and what isn't and share detailed individual feedback with all entries that score 3 or more.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hello Participants,

Thank you for your entries on the project. I like many things about several entries. Let's work together to make them better.

Below, I am giving feedback that applies to all your designs, irrespective of whether I have given it a score of 2, 3 or 4.

In addition, I will give specific feedback, primarily on the image, to all the designs that I have scored as a 3 or 4.

Title: Future of Crowdsourcing
Please use the font Harabara Regular in font color # 410755. Please use the biggest possible font size, with "Crowd" and "Sourcing" in two rows.

Subtitle: From Search to Synthesis, Creation to Curation, Content to Things
Please use the font Lucida Bright in font color # 410755. Please use a font size large enough so that the subtitle is visible on the crowdSPRING thumbnail. Please break the subtitle into three rows: “From Search to Synthesis,” “Creation to Curation,” “Content to Things”.

Logo: FutureCrafting
Please use the logo font Harabara Regular in font color # 410755. Please use a font size large enough so that the logo is visible on the crowdSPRING thumbnail.

Please use the font Lucida Bright in font color # 410755. Please use a font size large enough so that the subtitle is visible on the crowdSPRING thumbnail.

Background:
Please use a White and Silver Gray (# 989898) with subtle shading. Please don’t use purple boxes or geometric shapes as background.

Image:
- Please use a big striking image (about 40% to 60% of the design) that is related to both ‘Future’ and ‘Crowdsourcing’.
- Using people, brains, conversation bubbles, and light bulbs to represent ideas is OK. The best designs will go beyond and 1) include symbols that relate to the words in the sub-title and 2) integrate them into a bigger aha idea.
- Here are some suggestions for the bigger aha idea that will integrate all the elements in the image (I have not included specific ideas that I have scored a 3 or 4 in this list). Consider using: 1) the 2X2X2 graphic from the slide deck in the previous update, 2) the infinity symbol from the FutureCrafting logo, or 3) your own brilliant aha idea that integrates all the elements.
- Please try to use shades of purple (# 410755), silver gray (# 989898) and white predominantly, with some elements in complimentary colors like blues and reds for contrast.
- Please try to use a custom illustration instead of a stock photograph, so that I can reuse it in a different context.

Thank you again for participating in the project. I’ll look forward to receiving more entries from you.

Ah! One small change in the update above. I meant to say Lucida Grande, not Lucida Bright. Alternately, you can also use, Helvetica/ Helvetica Neue.
8-Aug-13 4:04 a.m. GMT
Hi Participants,

Here is the final update from my side.

Thank you for your entries. I already have two designs that I really like.

However, I want to explore if we can use the infinity symbol from the FutureCrafting logo as the main image. In the current logo, the infinity symbol is made up of a circuit board. In the book cover design, I would like it to be made up of crowdsourced ideas.

If I like more than one design, I'll add a second $300 award and buy both designs, so please know that it's not too late yet.

Please use the same shade of purple (# 410755) as the primary color, with some elements in complimentary colors like silver gray (# 989898), blues and reds for contrast.

Finally, please see the updates on August 6 http://www.crowdspring.com/print-design/project.... Please use Lucida Grande instead of Lucida Bright. That was a mistake from my side, which I corrected in another update.

I'll look forward to receive more entries from you.

Gaurav
