Description: The use of the telescope imparts 2 things; first, it's a the link to the sciences, which was what the client's two central funding areas center around. Secondly, to paraphrase one of the client's founders, "... we take the long view." Get it? Telescope, long view... I chose the font as a step between a serif and sans-serif. So it's fresh, but not a complete departure from serif fonts like Times or Garamond, which you find in a lot of financial logos.
