This was a comp for my internship in which we designed a poster for a John Paul Jones retrospective exhibition originally titled "Chasing Perfection's Ghost". The featured artist was a minimalist, so I chose a purely typographic approach. Furthermore, I sought to create a visual metaphor by debossing the word "Ghost" with no ink. I chose a deboss rather than an emboss to accentuate the idea of chasing a ghost that is receding or fading from view.
