The book itself was hand-stitched together, opening from right-to-left as opposed to traditional Western style to signify that my immigration happened from East to West, or from right to left. The insides of the covers are covered in gold material to reflect the interior pages but to also reflect this gold color as a staple color of traditional Russian art and culture.
