The client wanted a logo for their new online venture selling leather wrist bands that users could customize with their own artwork, or the artwork of others. They asked for something that ventured near being socially-unacceptable. I decided to go with a realistic heart, with the blood spatter mixed with a couple of paint splatters. To support it, I came up with the the taglines "Wear Your Heart on Your Wrist" and "Wear Your Art on Your Sleeve", both of which the client loved. I took the image in a hand-rendered direction, both to reinforce the macabre image of the heart, and because the product itself was made up of two textured materials: leather and canvas.
