We have talked as a community about standards of conduct appropriate in this community. We've all been frustrated with concept copying, rude behavior in public and private communications, and other inappropriate conduct. Our team spent the last few weeks putting together DRAFT standards of conduct for discussion by the entire community. We want your input! This is your chance to help us define what conduct is or is not appropriate in our community. When you can, please visit the forums and share your thoughts about the draft standards. We are discussing this issue in the first topic in the Suggestions/Improvements sub-forum. We hope to have a good discussion about these standards (these are for creatives; we will work on another set for buyers). They will affect all of you and this is your chance to work with us to shape them.

I'm confused I guess. Why are people only submitting one image? Shouldn't everyone be submitted finished versions of the many different layers? Correct me if I am wrong again, but you want cut outs of all the different layers in your PDF? All those different angles of the vehicle? I only ask this because so far it seems everyone is ... Are you wanting the cutouts of every layer that's in your PSD file?

I'm asking for a .psd file containing a set of either alpha channels or paths, which will be added to the original .psd file. This file is saved zipped as Odyssey.zip in the Materials list. The separated images can be used as samples, but I don't need them as part of the product.

are you asking for "cut outs" of individual parts that can then be separated? Or are you wanting outline drawings of the parts?

I've already made an illustrator path file of the alpha channels. This file is 24kb and can be emailed and opened in Illustrator. The original file size is 162 MB @ 500 dpi. Very sharp and very hi_res, so the paths will be right on the money. let me know how you want it sent.

This setup looks like it will work great on the Odyssey, however, for the sake of simplicity, I think the final version should be done via alpha channels *or* paths, but not both.

Project Update 26-Nov-08 12:03 a.m. GMT
1. A major requirement is that the traced areas can be cleanly separated from the original image as separate files. If this can be done via alpha channels as opposed to paths then they can be used. 2. For previews, it is probably easier and clearer to export the clipped outline, mask, and/or window portions of the original images, instead ... (more)

You know...if this is for the purpose of recoloring and clipping and such, an alpha channel would be much easier.
