What do you do?

Grape grower and Winery with tasting and sales right out of our Tasting Room and at restaurants and wine shops in our region. We are in an emerging northern grape growing region, growing new grape varieties that make great wines and survive our winter conditions. Currently our production is at 3,000 cases of wine per year. Our customers are both locals and for seven to eight months of the year tourists who are visiting Vermont. We receive over 14,000 visitors annually. We make white, red and dessert wines. We believe our wines have generated a reputation for quality, demonstrated by the numerous Best in Show awards we have received at national and international competitions. Our red wines up until now have been traditionally dry and the red wine we are planning for this label is a slight departure as it will be a relatively sweet red wine.

The label will be the principal and only label on a traditionally shaped 750ml wine bottle

The label will be 3.63 inches high x 6.63 inches wide. The graphic that we are seeking in this proposal will take up the middle 3" wide by 3.63" high part of the label . We will handle the text describing the wine and the mandatory government alcohol warning that will go on the extreme left and right sides of the rectangular label.

Describe the target audience for your package graphics

Mixed demographic but aiming at the millennial generation followed by Boomers and Gen xers. Goal is to attract casual wine drinkers not just the experienced or serious wine drinker. This new semi-sweet wine will help us expand our market.

What 3 things would you like to communicate to your audience through your package graphics design?

Fun, enjoyable, approachable product. A wine to take along to a party. A somewhat whimsical Vermont product, but also a quality product

The story behind the name: A simple cartoon-like drawing depicting the idea that while the winemaker is spending long days and nights at work throughout harvest season, his partner becomes the "Harvest Widow" and takes (sweet) "Revenge" by having a good time enjoying herself with the fruits of his labor while he works.

What package graphics design styles do you like?

Relatively modern look with fun, attention getting theme, Simple bold graphic strokes, with perhaps a stylized female cartoon figure shown enjoying this wine...while the winemaker is busy working.
