I have worked exclusively in the field of art since receiving a Bachelors Degree in Fine Art Painting in 1972 from Kutztown U. (Pennsylvania). Over the past thirty-five years, I've utilized my skill in a wide variety of artistic pursuits: • Trade Book Illustration 1974 - 2004 (see Bibliography on my website) • 13 Fully Illustrated Children’s Books 1977 - 2004 (see Bibliography) • Editorial and Commercial Illustration, Logos and graphic design 1981- 2008 Clients include Crabtree & Evelyn, DD Bean & Sons, Church&Main Advertising,, Yankee Magazine, PC Connection, Badger Products and Appalachian Mountain Club. •Print and website design 1998 - 2008 • Over the past twenty years, my paintings in oil and watercolor have been collected by private individuals. My recent Fine Art showcases my years of accumulated skill in drawing and brushwork beginning with the underpainting. Even after the application of the many layers of overpainting that follow, my goal is to retain a look of effortlessness, a delicate balance between freedom and skill. In my recent 2008 works in oil, I follow these parameters while choosing to work within a narrow range of an integrated color palette. less
