Creating integrated & interactive software involving all senses : visual, auditive, kinetic.
SAGE Design Studios
Software for Mobile devices (Android, Apple)
All group ages. Professionals, entrepreneurs, work-at-home people. In summary, all types of people.
Cutting edge, detailed, advanced, well designed, gorgeous. The software associated with the icon is an advanced slideshow viewer, it can act like a "desk calendar stand" as well as "photostand". Some physical "photostand" with some gorgeous picture being displayed COULD appear in this icon. Or a "desk calendar" in a physical iPad device is an alternative.
The icon is like a "resume", so it must look very attractive to the eyes of potential customers and buyers. So as a designer, DON’T hold anything back : use all your best knowledge, previous experiences & advanced software techniques you are aware of in order to come with the best results : layers, transparency, dropped shadow, realistic textures, creative uses effects, gradient colors, nice/smart use of fonts, feathering effects, 3D like aspects, etc. In order to come with the most visually stunning & detailed design you can think of
2 designs, one with just the icon content itself. An alternate version of the icon with a "HD" text style border specifying that the App is for iPad devices ("High Definition").
Must be in vector format such as Adobe Illustrator. Designer will also provide the same icon in .PNG format at the following resolution/dimension size : 512x512, 114x114, 72x72
Quite detailed, nicely thought out, slick look . Must appear like it took a lot of effort & time to create that icon. Good design is about attention to details anyway :)
Designer has creative freedom to choose the colors. As long as it has an overall professional look. Balanced use of many colors is preferable though.

Slick, attractive, modern, cutting edge, grabs the attention.
I'd like the designer to have some previous experience in creating App Icons. Doing a bit of additional homework such as checking many current iPad/iPhone App icons first would be a good idea. Thus the designer will have a better idea of the current visual standards for App icons as well as what looks good and what DOESN'T look good as an icon....
