What 3 things do you want to communicate to your audience through your app?

That it is possible to create a translation app that is actually useful...

How many app screens do you need designed?

Three, all of them very simple (two menus, one text screen)

Do your app designs need to be a particular size?

This will work on a lot of SmartPhones (but not on tablets). But you can design for the iPhone 5 only. Ie we will worry about the resizing issues. Please submit all graphic elements in a high resolution version for resizing. You can submit PSD or PNG.

What mobile app styles do you like?

Please use the new "flat" iOS 7 style

What colors do you want to see in your mobile app design?

Don't care

What colors do you NOT want to see in your mobile app design?

None

What adjectives should best describe your app design?

KISS (keep it simple)

Do you have additional info or links you'd like to share?

The app is a travel translation app. It ultimately be sold as many apps (one per language).

The app should be in the new iOS 7 style ("flat" images).

The design should be simple and easy to use. Too many bells and whistles are not the goal. But of course it should still look nice...

Screen1: main menu with word categories. You can assume that the categories will not change anymore.
Screen2: the words in a category and the primary translation
Screen3: original word, translation, pronunciation, sometimes with a secondary translation.

Screen3 can have two translations: a normal one and one for the courtesy form. The "primary" translation can be either the courtesy form or the non-courtesy form (a setup option). Therefore two icons must be designed to indicate "courtesy" or "non-courtesy" on screen3.

Optional app icon: designing an app icon is optional. You can submit with or without an app icon. The icon contains a lot of text, eg. "999 Words of Russian" over a background. It must therefore be created as two-layer Photoshop image (background plus text layer) or you must submit two images: (1) background (2) sample icon with background and text.
