KaraokeApp
Our company offers karaoke versions of songs to users in which they can record many tracks on top of, mix with volume, panning, and effects, and then upload and share to friends.
This is within the realm of the recording/music industry. When thinking about the app design we would like to redefine the recording process a little bit to better suit the mobile expectations while still maintaining some of the tried and true elements on recording software.
Needs to be simple and easy to use for a younger crowd. Needs to be fun and up to date looking to keep them coming back. Needs to encourage recording the songs.
Our app will have four sections. The first would be the area where they can preview songs they might want to listen to. This will include songs from many genres and artists so the information that could potentially be display here will be great and should be clean and organized. The second section will be the actual recording section where they can record many tracks on top of the base track. The third section will be the mixing section where they can adjust volumes, pans, and effects like recording software. The fourth section is where the user can upload / share.
We mainly target the iPad but would also like to use the iPhone.
We are trying to redefine the mobile recording environment a little bit by using popular designs today such as the magazine split view style that you see in apps like Flipboard, Mashable, Facebook. We want to take advantage of the screen real estate but also keep common elements found in recording software such as audio faders, mute/solo buttons, record and play buttons, tracks, etc...
This is open to interpretation. We don't have a defined color scheme but we are going to mainly attract a younger crowd with this app.
Don't rely only on Black, White, or Grey. We will want some color. Of course black white and grey can be used just don't want it to be boring.
Clean, Slick, Fast, Fun
If you are unfamiliar with various recording software concepts please look into Pro Tools, Multitrack DAW.
