What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)

I tend to prefer bold text-based logos. However, since I do work in a digital world, having something that includes a graphical element that would work as an icon in social media would be helpful. This also often helps in resolve the issue of having something that works well as a masthead for a website, but which can also be carved out to use as an avatar on Twitter and other social media outlets with very small, square dimensions.

The name "34th St Services" is a reference to the (original) "Miracle on 34th Street" movie. I chose this because, in the movie, Santa Claus tells customers how to find what they are looking for by sending them to other stores, contrary to what Macy's sales policies are. In doing so, not only does he make customers happy, but he also ultimately builds incredible brand loyalty and increase Macy's business by building a reputation for having exceptional customer service.

While I do not want anything as seasonal as a Christmas-type look, I do definitely love the retro feel of a 1940's post-WWII design ethic, particularly as a juxtaposition to the fact that we are a technology consulting firm. Playing on the "good old days" nostalgia for good service (myth though it often was) is the idea.

However, I also like super modern and sleek, too, so I'm game for anything that works. As long as it's not girly or frilly. :-)
