What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?

Hip, retro, unique. Cask and Crate is a craft beer and wine store featuring a cafe and tasting room. Our down to earth store & cafe will offer an intentionally limited number of hand selected wines from smaller wineries. Only wines that we’ve personally tasted and recommend because of their excellent quality and value will earn a spot on our shelves. Our huge selection of craft beers coupled with our friendly knowledgeable staff will thrill lovers of beer making them instant fans. Our cafe and outdoor patio will allow customers to enjoy a glass of wine or sample any of our 700 plus bottles of beer in a comfortable non-pretentious atmosphere. We’ll negotiate special buys on certain beers and wines from our distributors and create even more fans by passing on our savings. Our customers are people who enjoy better quality beer and wine and though they are often willing to pay more for it, they wont’ have to, because Cask and Crate just made great beer and wine affordable again.

What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)

The logo needs to be cool. If people wouldn't pay money to get a tee-shirt with our logo on it... it's not the right logo. People should want to wear our tee shirts, buy our logo'd pint glasses and buy our wood beer crates & wine gift boxes with our logo that tells the person receiving the gift that this beer or wine is special.

I want to have a late 1930's to late 1940's vibe. Not Art Deco though. This is the post prohibition era where people no longer had to go to a speak easy for a beer and breweries in America started to spring up all across the country. this was before the consolidation of breweries. there were hundreds if not thousands of mostly smaller breweries. It was not just BUD, Coors and Miller. Beer had integrity. Beer was packaged in wooden crates not cardboard boxes and delivered to stores in beer trucks and "panel vans" or "panel trucks".

I like the idea of having an old Panel Van also called Panel Truck incorporated into the logo. An artist rendering not an actual photo. Please see examples of some cool old panel trucks I've attached. I like the font in # 23. It doesn't have to be exact but that font is retro enough to not feel too modern yet not so frilly or flowery that it makes it hard to read. Some of the other similar fonts look good too. Cask and Crate could be on the side of the truck or simply above or below the truck or both. Once again. Think this should be a really cool logo that people would want to have on a tee shirt in addition to all the other normal applications. Thanks.

I've added some logo's that I Iike for various reason's. Some are modern day logo's with vintage feels like Fat Tire/ New Belgium Brewery and Homestead Creamery. ***Note: Homestead Creamery has the use of a truck in their logo. I want to use a vintage "panel truck" instead of the vintage "milk truck" they used. Also note that the truck and perhaps shape help give it a vintage feel without the font itself being vintage. Other logo's are simply examples of what I feel are good quality logo's to give an idea of what level of professionalism I'm striving for in my logo. Lastly I've added logo's that simply feel vintage to set a tone. I don't necessarily love those logo's (like Remington) on it's own. However, a Cask and Crate logo stylized in a similar way on a vintage beer crate or on the side of a vintage panel truck would look very cool. I'm saying incorporate the crate or truck into the logo. As for the truck itself, perhaps make the truck somewhat stylized or cartoonish or slightly distort the shape to create visual interest. Thanks to all for your submissions.

Please incorporate the words "Craft Beer" and "Select Wines" into the logo.

Also keep in mind while we sell wine our primary focus is craft beer also known as microbrewed beer. Grapes should not be a primary image in a logo because it makes it feel like a wine store or winery or wine bar.

We need just a little more time to fine tune our favorites. There were 3 submissions that we loved. We have narrowed it down to 2. There were a lot of submissions that were very professional and loked great but just didn't fit the look and feel we are going after as well as our favorites.
