Independence: A Community of Entrepreneurs
Government and Municipal
Entrepreneurial
We are facilitators
We celebrate business
Text only or text and image
We are targeting entrepreneurs and business owners who don't want to be in, or want to get out of the big city while still enjoying big city amenities. We're a place where you can enjoy running your business and also enjoy a great lifestyle.
We're a small, historic community that was founded as the end of the Oregon Trail. We see pioneers and entrepreneurs as cut from the same cloth and have adopted their mentality: Take calculated risks. Figure out what isn't working and fix it. Talk and plan until you know what needs to be done, then do it. Never stop working. Never stop improving.
We are a small, rural community but we are only 15 minutes from the state capital, and an hour from the state's two other largest cities. We have a state of the art fiber to the premises telecom utility that delivers faster internet than anywhere else in the state. We have affordable land, a large, skilled regional workforce, and a diverse population. We have all the amenities people want in a city, while retaining the small-town "know your neighbor/want to raise your kids here" feel.
Our City staff have a can-do attitude and see themselves as facilitators not regulators. We may tell you "no" but we'll also give you an alternative that will get you to "yes". We cheer for our businesses and we celebrate their successes as we do our own.
Taglines we're looking at include "Celebrate your business. Celebrate your life" or "Where tradition meets technology".
We like the "celebrate" theme but aren't wedded to it at this point. I've attached a few shots of our historic downtown in case the architecture rings a bell. Buildings don't have to be incorporated in the design though. I've also attached a couple logos that we like.
