I am very open - inspire me! I promise to respond early to all entries to help guide the design process. gestions. So early roughs would be fine if you want feedback on some rough suggestions before putting too much work in.
Please - prefer no conservative scripty italics, olde-worlde shoppe designs, no animated cartoony designs.
Prefer something not too literal - the design has to live in a very contemporary original design-oriented context.
I design, develop, produce, exhibit and sell unique art jewellery and objects, either unique one-off or small series, or limited production runs. My studio will also provide workspace and collaborative opportunities for other jewellers and silversmiths.
My customers will be the kind of people who attend art exhibitions openings with their wallets open - men and women, probably 30+, with a passion for art and design and the money to spend on it, either occasionally (one-off exibition work) or regularly (small run production work). Who are more likely to wear an unusual one-off work of art than an item from a traditional jewellery shop.

From time to time I aim to bring out limited editions (say 20 of a particular piece) and the packaging would use the logo - or a slight variation of it - along with the title of the edition. So the logo should be flexible enough for a word or 2 to be added before or after or under it for special campaigns and editions.
Sometimes the logo will be printed professionally. Sometimes it will be hand screen-printed (eg onto aprons). So I need a version that will work well in black and white/limited grayscale.
It will be incorporated into a laser cut panel on the gate to my studio.
I just spent the summer fitting out the new studio - it has its own access but is part of our sprawling 1867 former schoolhouse/chapel. It's in a funky, inner-city area with an industrial history and a long and vibrant history as a place for artists of all kinds. I am hoping to have open studios - by apointment, regular opening times and special open days and small exhibitions.
I'm an emerging artist and have degrees (2) in jewellery and silversmithing, as well as drawing. This is going to be my year to move from studying into production, marketing and exhibiting, hopefully gathering a few like-minded colleagues along the way.
The name of the studio/practice will be used as the basis for all marketing and communications - website, stationery, submissions to galleries and retailers, exhibition invitations, business cards - etc!
