What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?

datavisual is a small consultancy focused primarily on data-driven marketing, online marketing, web analytics and data processing (mainly in Excel). It provides advice and supervises projects in fields such as website development, PPC, SEO, social networks, business intelligence, CRM, web analytics, A/B testing, etc.

The name datavisual means broadly two things:
1)visualising data = turning numbers into shapes and colours to give them business meaning.
2)informative (data) and esthetical (visual) nature of marketing.

What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)

I like:
- simplicity (can't stress this enough!)
- flat design (Windows 8 / Office 2013 style etc.)
- very simple icons, symbols, pictograms
- no more than 3 colours in a logo
- I like the Palatinate Purple (#682860) colour, but it is not at all necessary to include it in the logo. Just a hint. I also like green colour.

Do you have any other info or links you want to share?

I hate:
- bevels
- emboss
- gradients
- shadows
- 3D
- serif fonts (for this logo).

I need: logo for white background and black background, logo which goes well together with standard computer fonts such as Arial, logo with good readability in both small and large print.

What I would like to see in the logo, but please do not feel limited! Text “datavisual” - maybe different colour for “data” and “visual” but not necessarily, maybe letters “D” and “V” ? Up to you...

-some simple icon/symbol to illustrate what is it all about - please try to avoid too obvious and stupid depictions such as a gauge or speedometer (for measuring) or an upward facing arrow above a column chart etc. What I really like is the shape of a funnel, since it has a lot to do with the subject. Just google sales funnel or marketing funnel. If you could include this in the logo in a smart way, good!

Hint: I love the FlowingData logo (see http://flowingdata.com/). I like how the “F” letter is created using a rotated column chart. That is smart! Try with the funnel... You get the point :)
