Creative brief

The buyer added updates to the brief. Read them.

What is the exact name you would like in your logo?

Swift Expo

What is your industry?

Internet

What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?

Complexity to simplicity -
Corporate Creativity -
Easy

What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)

The focus should be on the word "Swift" so we can use it again to additionally brand other products (Swift Expo, Swift Shift, Swift Cola, etc)
Enjoy styles like:
Skype - Strong focus on the name, with the ability to use the S as an icon.
YouTube - Web 2.0 styling, easy to recognize from a distance
Ox & Pen - Strong colors, fully branded, iconic. goo.gl/iiMGB

Do you have any other info or links you want to share?

Swift Expo helps making running large scale events easier. There are a large number of logistics that go in to running an event and we help simplify those complexities.

Design should be modular: Two Words - Swift _____, One Word - Swift, and just the icon.

Logo will be used online and for some print.

Thoughts that have come up around the idea:
Swift as a sense of motion in the logo
Swift like a fox playing with the visual of a fox in motion
Using gears, or clock mechanisms to represent complexities.
-- We are not tied to any of this ideas and look forward to seeing some creativity.

Ideally looking for a designer who takes the time to understand the idea and company, who we can go back to for future projects.

Ask any questions you may have, we're still figuring out the design!

Brief updates

First, Thanks to everyone for all the submissions; incredible creativity so far! I'm working my way through the submissions give everyone feedback, so bare with me as it may take me till this evening to give everything the attention it deserves. If any feedback I give doesn't make sense, feel free to ask questions!

Second, while we want the focus to be on the word "Swift" it is also important to be able to tell what the product (second word) is and distinguish it from other products. So we can't down play that second word too much. Thanks so much! More comments soon.

Thanks again to everyone for all of the creativity! Looking forward to seeing what comes in over these last few days.

I few updates to the ideas I listed originally, with one major Caveat – the below notes are **NOT** meant to exclude other ideas I’ve been seeing and that I hope others have. I am merely posting these thoughts publicly since there a number of entries in these two veins

The Gears – For this idea I realize that I envisioned things relating more to the intricacies and inner workings of gears rather than just the gear itself. A lot of what I see with the gears make me think of manufacturing. Combined this with the need for the logo to be recognizable from a distance and may be just an idea that was good in my head that doesn’t make sense in execution. Because of this I’m going to suggest LESS of a focus on this idea. If you already have something in mind, or have an idea that gets around these constraint, you’re welcome to give it a shot. You have my thoughts above

The Fox – Looking through this competitions and others on this site, I’m refining my tastes on this idea some too. I’ve found like the motion or line art of a fox, but it needs to be such that the fox is clearly a fox, not just a dog. I will also be curious to see if there is a recognizable fox that works well with a number of colors. (The following is said from someone who doesn't do design so take it with an extra grain of salt) I would also be interested in seeing how a line art style would translate to a pounce (not running). Especially so if you can play with the idea of a lot of small parts (or something insubstantial?) building into one moment of the pounce (clear defined action). Possibly a fade from the tail to the paws.

More individual feedback to come!

Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for all of the fantastic submissions. We had a number of entries come in over the last few hours and I want to make sure my collaborators have some time to review everything so we're extending the deadline a little. I'll be posting more 1 on 1 feedback Tuesday morning.

Hi all,

We just wanted to let you know that the buyer in this project has not chosen a winner so we're going to close the project. Please know that we've made repeated attempts to contact them by phone and email but were unable to reach them.

To reward the loyal creatives who worked hard on this project and all the others on the site, we've taken the proceeds from this project and used them to fund our monthly cS Awards program. The cS Awards are issued every month based on varying criteria but are a simple way that we give back to the community and reward our creatives.

Thanks so much for participating and see you around the site,

The cS crew
