I am a house music producer and DJ, so this will be my logo for use on all my promotional material. "Elephante" is a reference to the phrase "elephant in the room" - in other words, the things that are huge and important to people, but they choose to ignore and hide in their daily lives. My music is all about getting people to embrace and let go of their inner "elephante", and letting out the wild side that they don't usually get to show.
The logo needs to convey the following:
Energy - the music is very upbeat and dance-oriented. Please refer to www.soundcloud.com/IAmTheElephante for examples
Originality - Everyone has their own "elephante", so the logo needs to be simple enough that people can identify and project themselves on to it, but unique enough such that they don't feel it is for everyone or "one size fits all"
Modern - It is electronic music, so the logo should be new, fresh, clean, and modern
Grit - While the music is "fun" and energetic, this is not for children. The logo should not be "cartoon-y" or "playful". The music is about channeling your deepest and hottest passions, so the logo should not be "cute" in any way.
What logo styles do you like (image + text, image only, text only, etc.)
I am hoping for a logo to come in two parts, with 1) the logo and 2) the text "elephante" below. I want something simple and sleek, in black and white. My preference for the logo itself is an elephant head, though I will consider other submissions. Please refer to the attached logos as examples of style.
Do you have any other info or links you want to share?
Strong preference for it to be black and white - this will serve as a template from which different colorings and shadings can be applied. Also, it will be used in variety of formats, from clothing to websites to video, so it shouldn't be incredibly intricate - its essence should be communicated with a quick glance.
