Creative brief

The buyer added updates to the brief. Read them.

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT US:

Eclipse is a popular open source community the builds tools and frameworks for software developers. We have over 100 different open source projects hosted at Eclipse. Thousands of companies and individuals use Eclipse technology to build applications, products and plugins.

Our home page is www.eclipse.org

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED:

Eclipse has a well known logo that was created when the project was started in 2001. It is strongly associated with the Eclipse community and our target audience. However, we do believe that it could use a bit of modernization. We are not looking for a brand new logo or a fresh start. We want incremental improvements and refinements, something that looks like it was designed in 2010. The updated logo needs to be readily apparent that this is still a logo for the Eclipse community.

The different formats of our existing logos are available at http://eclipse.org/artwork/. The main logo is the four colour on white background.

OUR TARGET AUDIENCE IS:

Software developers are the main audience. However, companies will use our logo on their site to show they are creating Eclipse-based products.

WE ABSOLUTELY MUST HAVE THIS IN OUR DESIGN:

Must be a revision of the existing logo.

NOTE: This project is using a private contract. Be sure to read it.

Brief updates

I forgot to add to this brief that a version of the logo needs to be used for an icon. Our current icon does not include the 'eclipse' word mark. It just has the eclipse sphere.

Also, if you are interested the eclipse community is commenting on the designs at https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=3...
