Legal name: Millennium Design Associates, Inc.
Firm was started in October of 1998 when the word "Millennium" was popular. Aside from people not knowing how to spell it, the name does not specifically address what we do. At the time we believed the "Design Associates" portion of the name would help convey the message.
Clients refer to us as "Millennium" or "Millennium Design". Rarely the full name used by clients.
We do not intend to legally change the name but we wish to explore the use of our initials "MDA" in the re-branding effort as the primary logo.
The MLOGOBUSCARD.tif file has both of our current logos images on it. They are as follows:
1) The light Gray company name with an emphasis on the "MillenniuM had the two larger M's to symbolize the two principals in the firm, the dotted capitol I's tried to address the change in scale between the M and the rest of the name. The slice out of the first M was negative space retained from the deletion of a "Nike like swoosh". There is only 1 principal now. This image is used on the bottom of letter head and on our construction drawings.
2) The large black "M" with the red dot and drop shadow is the "logo" It is on the top of all our letterhead. Because it does not explain who we are we put the one from the example above as the footer or added the name in small print below the logo. See the letter head example.
Although, we have large clients (Staples, Stop & Shop, etc) we are perceived as a small firm...as a result...we are a small firm. Using the initial "MDA" makes us appear larger. We are aware that MDA is commonly associated with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Those are great folks, not bad company to keep in my opinion.
Established architectural firm providing design and consulting services for retail, commercial and developer based clientele.
1) MDA 2) MDA Architects 3) MDA Millennium Design
That is great! Solution must work on large (building signs) and small (envelopes) formats.
