Ideally I think we should have 2 versions of the logo, one with and one without the tagline. Our thinking is that we may decide to use the one WITH the tagline as our Business-to-Consumer logo, and the one without the tagline as our Business-to-Business logo in dealing with locations (see below).
CoinPlay is a startup entertainment vending operator. Specifically we buy, place, and operate vortex coin funnels in high foot traffic areas such as malls, museums, movie theaters, etc for the general public to enjoy.

The default design package of Logo, biz cards, letterhead, and envelopes is all we'll need.
Our biggest need is for the Logo and the business cards.
Entertainment and Sports
Although the end consumer will likely see our logo, the MAIN target audience for our logo and stationery are the owners, managers, and corporations that manage the locations where we would like to PLACE our machines. The key to our success lies in convincing mall operators and other business operators to agree to let us place our funnels in their locations in exchange for a revenue share and other shared benefits such as charity associations and entertainment for their patrons.
I would expect these managers and operators to be well educated, ranging in age from 30 - 50+, have experience managing real-estate leasing or retail establishments, and their primary interest in dealing with us will be how CoinPlay can benefit their business' bottom line.
1) Professional, reputable operator. Given that we are a new business offering a service which is somewhat non-standard, it will be important for us to portray a professional image so that a potential owner, corporation, or manager will know they are dealing with a company they can trust.
2) Fun and/or cool.
3) Sleek, design conscious, and/or modern. We want to convey an image that our machines will blend neatly and seamlessly into the decor and image of a given location. Our corporate brand and logo should mirror this idea.
Ultimately, the only mandate in the design of logos, it seems, is that they be distinctive, memorable, and clear. We realize we can't communicate everything about us in the logo (or possibly anything specific for that matter!) so being distinctive, simple, etc are more important to us than any specific message we convey.

The above criteria is what we want. We'll let you the designers figure out how best to accomplish that (text, images, etc.)
We are brand new and so completely open in terms of color scheme. We leave these choices in your capable hands.

Although we have not fully settled on a manufacturer where we will purchase funnels from, this site is looking like a top contender. We like that the designs are sleek and attractive vs some of the others we've seen which are cheesy and not likely to blend well with location decor.
